CONCORDIA — The Cloud County Community College track and field programs will be hosting a youth camp, the Cloud Track Night, each Monday night during the month of April.

The camp is designed to introduce K-6th grade children to a variety of events in Track and Field, with coaching from members of the Cloud County track and field team.

Participants will go through warm up routine each night before breaking into events and playing a short track related game at the end of the night.

Cloud County’s goal is to allow each participant a chance to find an event area that they enjoy and teach them techniques to help them excel.

Cloud Track Night is open to Kindergarten through 6th grade students and will be held at the Concordia High School track, located at 436 West 10th street. A parents’ meeting will be held at 5:45 p.m. in the West bleachers on April 3rd prior to the camp getting underway. Each of the four camp nights will run from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The cost of the camp is a flat $20 per child for all four nights. A camp t-shirt will be available for an additional $5.

Those interested are asked to bring the registration form and payment to the Concordia High School track during the parent’s meeting on April 3.

Registration forms can be found and printed off online at www.cloudtbirds.com by going to the men or women’s track and field teams’ pages and clicking on the “camps” tab.

In case of emergency or bad weather, Cloud County will notify local school districts and both Belleville and Concordia Radio Stations by 3:00 p.m. that night. If that situation were to happen, the Track Night event would be held inside Arley Bryant Gymnasium on the Cloud County Community College campus.
