WICHITA – The new turf coming to Adair-Austin Stadium on the campus of Friends University will now be even more groundbreaking than first anticipated, as IronTurf is now being installed.

To show how unique this product is, Friends University will join the NFL Super Bowl Champion New England Patriots and Sporting KC of the MLS on the short list of teams that sport the new turf.

“We are appreciative of the upgrade from Kansas Turf,” said Dr. Rob Ramseyer, Friends University Athletic Director.  “We spent a great deal of time looking at different turf options before deciding to work with Kansas Turf and IRONTURF rivals anything on the market.”

“This will be one of the premier surfaces in our region, regardless of level.  We are excited to be able to provide some of this quality for our student-athletes.”

The unique woven pattern of IRONTURF™ reduces splash, decreases rotational resistance and lessens lower leg stress, improving safety through consistent GMAX. Plus, with 12-pic stitching, fans get a cleaner look for graphics and team logos.

“We pride ourselves in our high quality workmanship, equipment, and operators,” said Jake Farrant, Kansas Turf owner. “Being able to pair that with what we believe to be a revolution in the turf business is nothing short of a game changer. IRONTURF’s patented woven technology is unmatched for playability, durability and safety. To truly be able to offer our customers what we believe is the best product on the market is a great feeling!”
