WICHITA – Friends University Athletic Director Rob Ramseyer has announced that Nick Morris has been hired as the school’s new assistant athletic director.

Morris comes to Friends from Oklahoma Wesleyan University (OKWU), where he served as the associate athletic director from 2015-18.

“I am ecstatic that Nick will be joining our staff at Friends,” Ramseyer said. “He is committed to Christian higher education and has developed a strong reputation within the KCAC for his quality work at Southwestern and Oklahoma Wesleyan.”

His duties at OKWU included directing all areas of game and event management, sports information, marketing, fan experience, fundraising and scholarships.

Morris also spent the 2015-16 season as the assistant women’s basketball coach at OKWU.

He graduated from Southwestern College in 2014 with a bachelor’s degree in sports management and attended Southwestern College on a basketball and tennis scholarship.

He was then a graduate assistant coach for the SWC women’s basketball program while completing his Master’s degree in Business Administration in 2015.

“I am extremely grateful to Athletic Director Rob Ramseyer and the University administration for giving me this opportunity to be the assistant athletic director,” Morris said. “Friends has an incredibly rich history of athletics, and I am eager to get started. “I cannot wait to get on campus, and I look forward to working alongside a great group of staff, coaches, student-athletes and fans.”

Morris will officially begin his duties at Friends on July 9 and plans to reside in Wichita.
