WICHITA – The Newman volleyball team’s pair of matches on Saturday will be now be played at Wichita Hoops.
The move was necessitated by Newman’s Party on the Plaza, the university’s largest scholarship fundraiser, which takes place on campus Saturday evening.
The Jets will open up their Heartland Conference slate against Lubbock Christian at noon, followed by a nonconference match against Southern Nazarene at 4 p.m.
The admission procedure remains the same as at Fugate Gymnasium. There will be a pass list for family and friends of student-athletes, and Newman students get in free with their student ID. Both matches will feature live stats, with the decision on live video still pending.
Wichita Hoops, a 113,000 square foot facility that features up to 14 volleyball courts or 12 basketball courts, is located at 5260 N. Toler Drive in Bel Aire, Kansas.
