HAYS – Wednesday, February 2, 2022 is National Signing Day as Fort Hays State head football coach Chris Brown and the Tiger football coaching staff announce signings for the 2022 season. The next Tiger Football recruiting class will be sending in their National Letters of Intent (NLI) throughout the day.

Notes: All-state and all-league selection as a kicker…Selected to participate in Kansas Shrine Bowl.

Ryan Allen, WR, 5-9, 165, Highlands Ranch, Colo. / Lutheran HS
Notes: All-conference selection and named to all-state academic first team…Voted team’s best skill player…Had 35 receptions for 601 yards as a senior.

Ty Battle, RB, 6-0, 195, Orlando, Fla. / Edgewater HS
Notes: As a senior, recorded 130 carries for 1,019 yards and 11 touchdowns.

Tre Carter, CB, 6-0, 180, Tulsa, Okla. / Holland Hall HS
Notes: As a senior recorded 27 tackles, 9 passes defended and 1 blocked kick on defense, while adding 17 catches for 213 yards and seven touchdowns on offense.

Sebastian De La Espriella, 6-4, 295, Bushland, Texas / Bushland HS
Notes: All-district selection as both an offensive lineman and defensive lineman…State qualifier in track and field.

Kayson Dietz, DL, 6-1, 285, Salina, Kan. / Salina South HS
Notes: All-state first team selection…Two-time all-league and all-county selection…Selected to participate in the Kansas Shrine Bowl…Recorded 56 tackles, 15 tackles for loss, 2 forced fumbles and 1 fumble recovery.

Vincent Dubose, LB, 6-0, 215, West Palm Beach, Fla. / Palm Beach Gardens HS
Notes: Two-time all-county first team selection on defense…Earned his team’s Defensive Player of the Year…Among the Top 65 players in Palm Beach County according to ESPN…Produced 96 tackles, 11 sacks, 22 tackles for loss, and four forced fumbles.

Notes: All-state first team running back…Earned district MVP honors…Recorded 1,300 rushing yards on 67 carries and added 200 receiving yards as a senior.

Caleb Heavner, QB, 6-2, 215, Denison, Texas / Denison HS
Notes: Two-time all-district selection…Leading passer in school history…Nominee for Texasland Player of the Year…Earned team’s MVP award…Received Elite 11 and Under Armour All-America Regional Invites…Threw for 4,234 yards and rushed for over 1,000 yards with 53 total touchdowns in his prep career.

Notes: Spent two years at Oklahoma and saw action in one game during the 2020 season…Played his prep career at Tampa Catholic High School, where he caught 61 passes for 1,225 yards and eight touchdowns.

Blake Davis, DB, 6-0, 170, Chino, Calif. / Citrus College
Notes: Utilized as both a wide receiver and defensive back as a freshman in 2021 at Citrus, finishing with 9 receptions for 64 yards and one touchdown on offense and 14 tackles and two interceptions returned for a total of 123 yards…Also compiled 62 yards on kick returns…Played his prep career at Diamond Ranch High School, where he earned all-league first team honors at both defensive back and wide receiver and earned team Defensive Player of the Year honors.

Daniel Howard, DB, 6-3, 195, Oklahoma City, Okla. / Northeastern Oklahoma A&M
Notes: All-America Second Team and all-conference first team selection at NEO…Recorded 93 tackles in two seasons with two interceptions…Played his prep career at Millwood High School where he was a member of two state championship teams and played in the all-state game…As a senior, produced over 2,500 yards with 34 touchdowns as a quarterback and 53 tackles with six interceptions as a safety.

Notes: Utilized as a wide receiver during sophomore year of 2021 at Trinity Valley and finished with 11 catches for 68 yards, while having one kick return for 21 yards…Was the team’s top running back as a redshirt-freshman in 2019, carrying the ball 86 times for 499 yards and one touchdown…Played prep career at Harker Heights High School, where he was a three-time all-league selection.
