ESU, PSU in top five of this week’s WBCA poll

Pitt State moved up a spot in this week’s Women’s Basketball Coaches Association Division II Top 25 Poll.

The Gorillas, now 14-1 on the year, went 3-0 on the week and switched spots with Angelo State (12-0). PSU picked up an out-of-conference win over Northwestern Oklahoma and grabbed wins over Missouri Western and Northwest Missouri in league play.

Emporia State held tight in the No. 2 spot in the poll, behind Ashland, which is at the top of the rankings for the fourth consecutive week.

ESU (14-1) earned a 26-point victory over Washburn in the Hornets’ only game on the docket for last week.

Fort Hays State is still on the outside looking in. But the view is from a lot closer.

The Tigers (13-2) are the equivalent of No. 26, just four points behind Adelphi.

PSU has two homes games this week, FHSU has just one game, which is at home, and ESU is on the road twice.
