Emporia State and Pitt State have been near the top of the national polls of Division II women’s basketball throughout the season.
Now the two teams are listed near the top of the poll that really counts.
The NCAA released its regional poll on Wednesday and the Central Region has Emporia State at the top spot and Pitt State in at No. 3.
The top eight in the final regional poll at the conclusion of the regular season and the conference tournaments will move on to the NCAA Regional Tournament.
The Central Region consists of the MIAA, the Great American Conference and the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.
