McPHERSON – After four seasons at the helm of the Central Christian College women’s basketball program, Chris Honeck, has decided to move in a different direction and has resigned from his position as head basketball coach.
Honeck joined the Tiger program in the fall of 2013, when the previous coach resigned from his position just a few weeks before the season began. Honeck will leave CCC with an overall record of 35 wins and 83 losses. He had his best season in 2014-2015 when the Tigers finished the season 10-21. During his four seasons, he coached two MCAC and A.I.I. all-conference players and three of his players earned NCCAA all-region honors.
“Coach Chris Honeck has recently resigned from his duties as the head women’s coach at Central Christian College, to pursue other coaching and teaching opportunities closer to his family,” CCC Athletic Director Twiggs Reed said. “I would like to publicly thank him for his four years of service as the head women’s basketball coach at Central Christian College.
“During Coach Honeck’ s tenure at Central Christian College, he has had a positive Christian influence in the lives of so many young women. Central Christian College will always be grateful for his dedication and commitment to this institution as well as to his players. All of us here have the utmost gratitude to Coach Honeck and hope and pray the very best for him and his family in the future.”
A search is currently underway for Coach Honeck’s replacement.
