INDIANAPOLIS – The first edition of the NCAA volleyball regional rankings were released Wednesday afternoon with Washburn checking in at No. 6 in the Central Region. The top-eight teams will advance to the NCAA Tournament.

The Ichabods are on a seven-match winning streak and hold an overall record of 22-2 and have gone 14-2 in MIAA play. Washburn was ranked third in the latest American Volleyball Coaches Association top-25 poll this week and has been in the top-five for the entirety of the season.

Undefeated Nebraska-Kearney claims the top-regional ranking followed by Minnesota Duluth in second. Concordia-St. Paul is No. 3, Northern State is No. 4, and St. Cloud rounds out the top-five. The MIAA has four teams in the top-10 as Central Missouri and Northwest Missouri are ranked back-to-back at No. 7 and No. 8, respectively. All of the top-10 teams in the Central Region are ranked in the top-16 nationally.

Washburn will close its home schedule this weekend with matches against Pittsburg State (Friday, Nov. 8) and Missouri Southern (Saturday, Nov. 9). Both matches are set to begin at 6 p.m.
