WICHITA – Ottawa University has been selected the top preseason volleyball program within the KCAC for 2018 by Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference coaches.
The Braves were the 2017 KCAC volleyball regular season co-champions with Kansas Wesleyan University, both finishing 19-3 in the KCAC. Ottawa defeated College of the Ozarks, 3-0 (25-22, 25-23, 25-16) in the NAIA opening round, but went 0-3 at the NAIA National Tournament Final Site, ending its season 30-14 overall.
Ottawa collected eight first-place votes and a total of 140 votes, while the Coyotes of Kansas Wesleyan collected 133 total votes and four first-place votes. McPherson College was selected third with 121 votes and the final first-place vote, while Oklahoma Wesleyan University was tabbed fourth with 105 votes.
