KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Friends University junior forward Juan Zamora has been named to the NAIA Men’s Soccer All-America team as an honorable-mention selection, the national office announced Thursday.

Last season’s KCAC Newcomer of the Year and a first-team All-KCAC performer, Zamora picked right back up this season, leading the Falcons and the KCAC while ranking sixth in the NAIA with 17 goals on the season.  He also dished out three assists to rank second in the league in points per game (2.18).

The Labelle, Fla. native flashed a clutch gene, finishing tied for first in the conference and eighth in the NAIA with five game-winning goals on the season.

Zamora’s steady offensive play was a big factor in the Falcons enjoying a nine-match unbeaten streak and winning 12 of 14 matches before falling in the KCAC semifinal round (Apr. 14) to top-seeded and NAIA national runner-up Oklahoma Wesleyan University to wrap up the season at 12-4-1 overall.
