MIAA Communications

• UPDATE •

The MIAA and its member institutions announce the suspension of all MIAA intercollegiate sports activities (practice and competition) effective 11 p.m., March 12, 2020. The Association’s decision is the result of ongoing consultation with campus leaders, and it follows the decision today by the NCAA to cancel all winter and spring championships for all three divisions.

KANSAS CITY – The MIAA Office, its CEO Council and its member institutions continue to assess COVID-19 and its impact on our students and our communities.

We will monitor this growing health crisis, and we will continue to consult with the NCAA, health professionals and government officials on these issues.

Based on the current information available, the MIAA is not announcing any changes to our spring sports schedules at this time. Decisions about whether schools will travel to scheduled contests and whether the general public is permitted at MIAA spring contests is being left to each MIAA member institution.

As circumstances develop, we will provide updates as soon as we can.
