KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Just two days after being chosen as the KCAC’s top men’s indoor field athlete, Friends University junior Brayden Wells has now added the NAIA Men’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week honor to his name, the organization announced Wednesday.

Wells captured the Weight Throw title at the Thresher Invitational this past weekend by breaking his own school record with a throw of 19.07m. The throw is currently tops in the KCAC this season while ranking second in the NAIA.

“Brayden has made some huge improvements this season and he has his sights set on contending for the national title in the Weight Throw,” said Henry Brun, Friends University track & field head coach.

“The training plan that Coach McKnight has structured for Brayden has certainly allowed for him to step into the ring with balance, strength, and most importantly confidence. I am proud of the progress that Brayden has made and I am excited to see what he’s got to give at the KCAC and then the NAIA national meet.”

The Falcons are currently prepping for the KCAC championship Indoor Meet, set to be held at Wichita State University on Feb. 18-20.
