WICHITA – The Friends University Falcons won their second straight KCAC Commissioner’s Cup and fourth overall in the last five years, the league released on May 9. The Falcon Athletic Department will receive the Cup at the 2019 KCAC Sport Management Conference on Tuesday, Aug. 6 at Avila University in Kansas City, Mo.

“We are so pleased to receive the KCAC Commissioner’s Cup again this year,” said Dr. Amy Bragg Carey, president of Friends University. “It’s been wonderful to see student athletes on all our athletic teams contribute to this award we’ve received for four out of the last five years.”

The Falcons were bolstered by conference championships in women’s indoor and outdoor track & field along with solid runner-up finishes in men’s indoor and outdoor track & field and men’s cross country.

“We are ecstatic to win the Commissioners Cup for the fourth time in five years,” Friends University Athletic Director Dr. Rob Ramseyer said.  “This sustained success is a testament to our outstanding student-athletes, coaches, and support staff. Their commitment is evident through this consistent run within the conference.”

Also boosting the Falcons’ efforts were third-place showings in softball, men’s basketball, women’s cross country and men’s soccer.
The Falcons garnered 151 total points for the season to slip by second place Ottawa University by 1.5 points.
